bring your wasted heart
the coin you've overspent
we are expected at the show
the one to end all others
grab your soiled soul
dirty laundry of your past
doesn't matter how we look
have to get to the final show
bring your burdened brain
the hat you lost long ago
we must find the damn theater
before they close the door
wear your lacy flesh
you've always worn it well
we've got the tickets in hand
time to beat the final bow

Precipice
shattered ashes
the flypaper of past
binding, the
powdered memories
the soot and fragments
morsel crumbs left
behind by life
enough to remember
far from enough
to have, nothing
to hold tightly
warm in hands
with breath and
beat and color
nothing to have
what is to want
all has slipped
from yesterday
nothing has sprung
from tomorrow
fate laid out
in the shattered ashes
of what's left
and the abysmal void
of what may be
the flypaper of past
binding, the
powdered memories
the soot and fragments
morsel crumbs left
behind by life
enough to remember
far from enough
to have, nothing
to hold tightly
warm in hands
with breath and
beat and color
nothing to have
what is to want
all has slipped

nothing has sprung

Weave of the shroud
those patterns laid out
in the weave of the shroud
what threads were spun
from carded time
so fine the hourly fibers
from breaths and gasps
sighs and exhales
only strangulated
in the weave of the shroud
for the weaver has
always woven the last
moment for freely flying wings
those eerie patterns sparkle
in the last lights
drowsy eyes spy
and drift into foggy sleep
of the darkening sky
the sweeping indigo
in the weave of the shroud
blanketed upon
both those who scurry
within the hollow dark
and those who sleep
in the weave of the shroud
in the weave of the shroud
what threads were spun
from carded time
so fine the hourly fibers
from breaths and gasps
sighs and exhales
only strangulated
in the weave of the shroud

Bacterial digits
bacterial digits spread
in their great sporedom
the boredom that infects
zombie flesh and hurls
them into shopping mall
windows tearing through
the glass to grind their
grisly teeth on mutated
fossils we just won't let
rest in the earth but give
new birth and rise to all
that is lovely in the eyes
the mechanical eyes of
these bacterial digits that
with whipping thrash
of innocent thought input
the plaguing notion of
want before need or want
is need or want has
stabbed need again and
again slashing its heart
and feasting on the bits
to claim there is only want
in these bacterial digits
that rise above all for
after all they have no
end they know no cease
and desist and lead all
those whom they infect
to the hollow existence
that is theirs of eternal
hunger and thirst and
abysmal void that only
consumes never to gain
in their great sporedom
the boredom that infects
zombie flesh and hurls
them into shopping mall
windows tearing through
the glass to grind their
grisly teeth on mutated
fossils we just won't let
rest in the earth but give
new birth and rise to all

September shadows
dread reigns bumble wings
into dizzying action
the toppled heads
with their golden crowns
lay numerous and gently
on cooling earth
fence posts
and pickets become
the tale-tell of
the tide unknown
yet remembered
tendrils reach out
for balance for the elderly
vines they spring from
as they creep among
the eager cosmos
when painted ladies
readily dance across
still gaily colored carpets
sipping fine wine and
kicking up gold luster
is when the southern sun
begins to recede into
September shadows
into dizzying action
the toppled heads
with their golden crowns
lay numerous and gently
on cooling earth
fence posts
and pickets become
the tale-tell of
the tide unknown
yet remembered
tendrils reach out

Seluna's song
Seluna whispers in the cycles
journeys that begin again
tying events to a progress
giving order to the wind
Seluna dances with the dark
the cosmos is their floor
she's the tiny ring in a pool
that ripples to so much more
Seluna counts off infinite
in a maiden moon affection
waxing full to mother and
waning to crone reflection
Seluna spins through eternity
wading in the ebb and flow
she's the weaver of the seasons
when to reap, when to sow

Morning star
morning star awakes
a thunder of light fills the heavens
with the opening of his eyes
to peer upon these souls
masked in earthen water wear
these souls in search of what was left behind
on the other side of the veil
the knowledge, the pleasure, the power, the wisdom
all of what many fall for
in their earthen water wear
as morning star amuses himself
in all these follies this side of the veil
and waits for just another one to fall
to add to the growing list
your Icarus, Phaeton, Eve, Lucifer

Wandering wonderings
if you want the right pricing
for the right product you have
to provide the right number
will it rain, it's cloudy out
something they don't have
to ask down south right now
how can peaches come about
after sipping on cold coffee
stop breathing in the receiver
my ear is right on the other side
the sun is coming out now
think it will stay dry, for now
not like the poor folks down south
it's high time we quit holding
our breaths in an odorous public
restroom and break out the bleach
why do teeth bite the inner cheeks
that shield them from the world
sucks being blind from the world
due to the blinds on the windows
just living up to their names
just living up to their names
okay, that wasn't a squeaky chair

Calls
"I'd rather be gardening"
a mental bumper sticker
I post to the back of my head
while I listen to people
their credit card numbers
too eager to slip from their lips
their minds not quite able
to wrap around what a billing zip code is
their unwillingness to help themselves
while they spoon feed their complaints
their randomness in thought that
results in me logging RFC as:
"No reason listed"
no reason indeed

Mind bomb
my head bloomed
and grew wings
and detached from my neck
to fly off into the clouds
it rose past mountains
whose rocks only
weigh them down
from reaching any further
and bursting the Earth's bubble
it soared past planes
full of people escaping
whatever they found
so unbearable in their lives
it waved goodbye to
the arachnid astronauts
who like to weave their
webs in the outermost air
it was then absorbed
into the sky beyond
the sky and swam through
emptiness and vastness
until it reached eternity
where it exploded
just in the nick of time
