pea-sized hail falls
sounds worse than it is
just like the silence
that echoes between us
sounds so much worse
than it actually is
it's not a test
that we can endure
it's not a punishment
no wrong has been done
just a shift in it all
in the connection
maybe even to bring
the inner out
to pull the moisture
out of the clouds
and shift the rain
to pea-sized hail
