you rouse me at dawn
to reassure me yesterday
wasn't a dream
your touch seeps deep
within my soul
and lures me to your eyes
you tell me something
your lips have said before
but my ears receive your voice
in virginal bliss and warmth
though our souls have done
all of this many times
our bodies haven't and quiver
under the weight of the experience
you reluctantly rise
and ask me how I like my coffee
I cease the reply to make you pause
to hold you in your stance and gaze
to keep you in this moment
just a little longer
