I had a pretty good idea
for my expectations
the delivery date had
stated from day one
a certain time frame
so I was even and keel
with no anxious hopes
just smooth sailing
until mid month
but then notice came
and the ship had sailed
or rather it had shipped
and with so many ships
coming into port
butterflies began to flutter
and it almost felt like
October three years on
but in Mercurial fashion
that is the Universe's humor
the only ship to come in
left dirt and snoring aids behind
